Mt. Si Relay with The Devil Wears Trail Shoes ...

The Devil Wears Trail Shoes Team
Maria, Linda, Jane, Tamara, Julie

I ran the Mt. Si relay: 5 women, 10 legs, total of 57 miles. I ran legs 4 and 9 (6 miles and 7.1 miles). Maria, my trail running friend, wanted us to do this event. She was so excited about this run - she had participated in the past and just had to run it again. Mind you, she used to run on pavement... something I don't do and never want to do.

The relay is run mostly on the Snoqualmie Valley Trail (a small portion is on the Iron Horse Trail connecting from Rattlesnake Lake). This trail is hard and flat. I did not have fun. Both legs started out painful - my shins tightened up and I had to walk for 20+ minutes to get them to relax. Fortunately they did loosen up both times and I could run the rest of the section.

Maria - passionate about something ...

The best part about the event is the people: volunteers, teams, friends and family out cheering everyone on.

One of several bridges I ran across...

Michael came out on the bike and was our team photographer. For the best pictures:

Stats: we came in last for the relay teams ... oh well. Someone has to do the honors ... and we still had fun, food was available at the end ... what more could we ask for ... okay... next time we run a little bit faster .. oh wait ..
